Peek-a-Boo!
It's a miraculous feeling... of how some simple activities in life can relate to the greater aspects of it.
Cycling started off with a group of us. As we rode on, i lost sight of some of them but there's was always this person who silently rode behind me, constantly keeping watch over me, making sure i was not alone.
It spurred me on to think... all of us walk through this life with various people coming in and out at different point in times. Some of our family & frenz walk thru with us, constantly with us and beside us. However, many of us are guilty of just looking ahead, finding the people whom we want, whom we lost, whom are not in our sight. Likewise, we are obsesssed with achieving our goals, our visions, our ambitions and fulfil dreams that lie ahead.
How often do we bother turning our heads to notice the people who are beside us and behind us? Do we even put ourselves in their shoes to understand what they feel? How is it like to walk behind someone and chase after someone?
To understand that feeling, i asked that someone to go ahead of me and let me feel how is it like to chase after someone? To just see the person's back facing me and slowly just chase chase chase without any complaint or grievances.
It was a painful feeling. To chase up with another person's back facing me all the time. To have to keep mum for fear that any complaint would affect the person any teeny weeny bit. To go thru rough and tough patches alone, while seeing the person ahead of u move on n on... not out of sight- but further & further away. To realize that the person does not turn back to take a peek at you, to ask u how r you nor stop by and wait for you.
Do we realize? That while we are busy chasing our dreams in life, busy enjoying ourselves, busy working towards our practical goals, there are people who walk beside us and behind us. These people whom we turn to only when we lose our vision in front, only when the road ahead poses too many hazards, only when we are overwhelmed by fear, only when we need someone to hold on to our hands and walk.
I didn't know... that an hour of cycling could teach a lesson that can last a lifetime!
